Courses Offered

All courses are designed around your needs. In general I keep them as short and to the point as possible to get you up and running again, feeling re-energised and confident. What is described below will give you an idea of what to expect.

University students

'Back to Work': Between three and five September sessions focusing on the coming year. Could be reinforced by two at Christmas and two at Easter. Working out strategies, discussing particular difficulties and how to get around them. Can be extended to email contact if necessary.

Crisis Management: Things can go wrong in life with health, relationships or just self esteem. Whatever the reason, problems with work follow, and this can make it all worse. I will provide advice and support, if necessary negotiating for you with the University itself.

Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and related learning difficulties. I can give university level support, not specific to subject matter. If you already have the Disabled Students Allowance I will give you all the support you are entitled to, according to your Assessment of Needs, which you will by now have been given. This can include email contact to discuss work in progress whilst you are at University, as well as tutorial sessions whilst you are back in Bath.

Advice to Parents

If parents of School or University aged students feel their child is experiencing difficulties with education or learning I can help to: identify the problem, de mystify the system and suggest solutions.

School Age Students (11 - 18)

Holiday sessions can be provided to work on specific problems of motivation and organisation. Parents do not always appreciate the complexity and pressure of school life. I help you take a fresh look at problems that may have built up so that you can go back to school with more idea of how to succeed.

Where:

In Bath or in the student's own home.

Cost: £40 per hour

If the student has a DSA (disabled student's allowance) their education authority will pay for the help.
