It is my belief that given the right therapeutic conditions for personal growth and development we can all develop a way of being that is unique to each individual.
In this enormously busy world that we find ourselves in, it is often difficult to find time to really listen to others and be listened to. Person Centred Therapy enables a person to find space and time to become themselves and so be more effective and content with who there are.
We have all suffered pain in our lives and those who need therapy especially so, but it is possible to put that pain into a place where we feel able to move forward. We cannot always leave it behind forever but it can be integrated into our being in a way that does not damage us anymore. The core conditions (unconditional acceptance and no judgement, empathy, genuineness and safety) that are at the heart of this therapy can be a way of being that we can live by, even if we are not in therapy. To be in a world without judgment, where we are all accepted for ourselves and where everyone is genuine and empathic sounds good to me. It is something we can all strive towards.
